Following the troubled recording of Killing Joke's [r=314202], Martin Atkins invited the other members, [a=Geordie Walker] and [a=Paul Raven] - excluding vocalist [a=Jaz Coleman] -, two former KJ members, [a='Big' Paul Ferguson] and [a=John Bechdel], and [a=Chris Connelly], with whom he'd worked as part of [a=Ministry]/[a=Pigface], to join him and record an album for his [l=Invisible] label as Murder Inc. While much was made of the fact that the band featured two of the most renowned drummers of the post-punk scene playing together in one band, their output failed to set the world alight. The group gradually fell apart and Geordie began working with [a=Youth] and Coleman once more and recorded [r=314042] and [r=169422] with the reformed Killing Joke, before the band fell apart again. The Murder Inc. idea was partially revived in Atkin's [r=167933] project, again featuring Connelly and Walker, a project that survived Walker's return, once again, to Killing Joke to record [r=218258].
