After many appearances on amateur radio shows and singing at various Melbourne cabarets, Rochelle became a permanent feature in 1955 at The Chevron Hotel dinner dance, singing with Rudy La Coeur's group. The Chevron, in St. Kilda Road, was one of the premier venues in 1950's Melbourne and its renowned "Orchard Room", where Rochelle sang was a popular and chic venue. Rochelle signed with [l440697] at the tender age of 19 and her first issued recording was the 10" party LP [r3989972]. Her vocal career came to an end when she married a couple of years later and never returned to show business.
